Using MIDINES 1.1.0 with FL Studio  

Setting up FL Studio for Midines:

FL Studio Producer editon, ver 6 and more recent:
1. Make sure you have a MIDI out device with the latest drivers on your system.
2. Plug Midines into the MIDI OUT port of your system.
3. Launch FL Studio with a empty project (Templates -> Empty) then select from the top left menu: Channels -> Add one -> MIDI out.
4. Select Options -> MIDI Settings and the following menu should appear.



5. Select from the Output area your system MIDI output and assign a Port number to it. The above example displays the MIDI outs for the E-MU 1616m PCI audio card.
6. On the MIDI out channel set the PORT number to match the one selected for your MIDI out (in this case to 0).



7. To set up the MIDI CCs for Midines right click the knobs on the MIDI out channel, and select Configure.



8. Then assign the appropriate MIDI CC mapping as mentioned online here, then click Accept.




   Volume and Pitch Envelopes using the Fruity Envelope Controller.  

9. To create a MIDI CC envelope add two more channels, Channels -> Add one -> Layer , and Channels -> Add one -> Fruity Envelope Controller.



10. The Fruity Envelope Controller triggers the start of its envelopes when it gets a note on event (playing a key), so to play both the Env Ctrl and send a MIDI note out we will use a Layer to trigger both at once.
Select the Layer channel opening up its window and then select the MIDI out and Env Ctrl, then select Set Children.



11. Select the MIDI out and assign the Volume and Pitch knobs to be controlled by the Env Ctrl by right clicking the knobs and selecting Link to Controller.

12. On the Internal controller dropbown menu select the appropriate Env Ctrl you want to use.



13. The Fruity Envelope Controller needs to have its default range parameters adjusted for better use with Midines by changing the following.

For Pitch - Set Base Level (LVL) to %50, Envelope Level (ENV) to 1or 10%, and LFO level to 0% (off).
For Volume - Set Base Level (LVL) to %50, Envelope Level (ENV) to %100, and LFO level to 0% (off).
